Leave Policy

1. TYPES OF LEAVES:

1.1 Earned Leave (EL):

  • Employees are entitled to earned leave, which is accrued monthly based on the number of days worked.
  • Accumulated EL can be availed for personal, vacation, or medical reasons.

1.2 Sick Leave (SL):

  • Sick leave is granted for health-related issues.
  • A medical certificate may be required for leaves exceeding a certain duration.

1.3 Casual Leave (CL):

  • Casual leave is for short-term, unplanned absences.
  • Employees can avail a limited number of casual leaves per calendar year.

2. LEAVE APPLICATION PROCESS:

2.1 Employees must submit leave requests through the designated HR system or a leave application form.

2.2 Requests for planned leave must be submitted at least [insert number of days] in advance, unless due to unforeseen circumstances.

2.3 Emergency leaves should be communicated to the supervisor or HR as soon as possible.

3. ACCRUAL AND AVAILABILITY:

3.1 Earned leave will be credited to the employee’s account on a monthly basis.

3.2 Unused earned leave can be carried forward to the next year up to a maximum limit.

3.3 Casual leave entitlement will be credited annually, and any unused casual leave at the end of the year will lapse.

4. HOLIDAYS AND WEEKENDS:

4.1 Employees are entitled to all national and regional holidays.

4.2 If a public holiday falls on a weekly off day, the next working day will be considered a compensatory working day.

5. MATERNITY AND PATERNITY LEAVE:

5.1 Maternity leave will be provided as per statutory regulations.

5.2 Paternity leave will be granted for a certain duration as specified in the policy.

6. LEAVE WITHOUT PAY (LWOP):

6.1 Leave without pay may be granted at the discretion of the management based on individual cases.

6.2 Prior approval from the supervisor and HR is required for LWOP.

7. DOCUMENTATION:

7.1 Medical certificates or relevant documentation may be required for sick leave exceeding [insert number of days].

7.2 Any false documentation may result in disciplinary action.

8. DISCIPLINARY ACTION:

8.1 Unauthorized leave may result in disciplinary action, including salary deductions and other consequences.

8.2 Repeated violations of the leave policy may lead to termination.

9. AMENDMENTS TO THE POLICY:

The company reserves the right to modify, revoke, or amend this policy as deemed necessary.
